The Jan Vishwas Act 2023: Conception and Development

  • The main objective of the Act is to decriminalize such minor offenses which do not cause any harm to public interest or national security.
  • Under this act, an effort has been made to promote 'ease of living' and 'ease of doing business' by decriminalizing 183 provisions of 42 central laws.
  • This Act provides for civil penalties or administrative proceedings for such minor offences.
