BHARATPOL Portal
- On 7th January 2025, the Union Home Minister launched the 'BHARATPOL' portal to enhance the efficiency of Indian investigation agencies in tracking fugitives and facilitating faster international assistance.
- Developed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the portal allows central and state agencies to connect with the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) for real-time information sharing, replacing the previous system where only the CBI had this access.
- It will help streamline international assistance to tackle rising transnational crimes like cybercrime, drug trafficking, and human trafficking.
