Odisha Joins Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY Scheme
On 13th January 2025, Odisha became the latest state to implement the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY), marking a historic day for the state's healthcare.
About the Scheme
- Health Coverage Expansion: AB PM-JAY will provide health cover of Rs 5 lakh per family per annum, with an additional Rs 5 lakh for women members. The scheme is implemented alongside Odisha's existing Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana (GJAY).
- Total Families Covered: The converged scheme will cover approximately 1.03 crore families, with 67.8 lakh families supported by the Union Government.
