Committee for Strategic Asset Allocation and Risk Governance
On 25th January 2026, the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) constituted a committee of Investment Experts for Strategic Asset Allocation and Risk Governance (SAARG).
Aim
- To review, recommend and modernize the investment framework under the National Pension System (NPS).
Key Mandates
- Global Benchmarking: Assess NPS guidelines and compare with top global systems.
- Asset Classes: Expand and diversify for stability and resilience.
- Asset Allocation: Recommend optimal mix with risk controls.
- Performance & Accountability: Improve evaluation and transparency.
- Risk Management: Strengthen market, credit, liquidity, and operational risk frameworks.
- Governance: Review custodial and intermediary processes.
- Sustainability: Incorporate climate and net-zero considerations.
