Inauguration of EV Plant in Lucknow
- On 9th January 2026, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated Ashok Leyland’s advanced Electric Vehicle (EV) plant in Sarojini Nagar, Lucknow.
- The plant, initially planned for completion in 24 months, was completed in a record 18 months.
- Once operational, the plant will manufacture approximately 2,500 electric vehicles per month.
- It is India’s first dedicated electric bus manufacturing plant.
