Nagauri Ashwagandha Receives GI Tag
- Recently, the central government granted the Geographical Indication (GI) tag to Nagauri Ashwagandha, known for its unique identity and superior medicinal properties.
- After “Sojat Mehendi,” this is Rajasthan’s second major achievement in the agricultural category.
- With Nagauri Ashwagandha added to the GI list, the number of GI-certified products from Rajasthan has increased to 22.
- Due to Nagaur’s dry climate and sandy soil, the Ashwagandha roots grown here are thicker, whiter, and more medicinally effective.
