NITI Aayog Releases Export Preparedness Index 2024
On 14th January 2026, NITI Aayog released the Export Preparedness Index (EPI) 2024, a comprehensive assessment of export readiness across India’s States and Union Territories (UTs).
- First launched in August 2020, this is the fourth edition of the Index.
What is EPI?
- EPI provides an evidence-based framework to evaluate the strength, resilience, and inclusiveness of subnational export ecosystems.
- Framework: The index is structured around 4 Main Pillars, which are broken down into 13 sub-pillars and 70 indicators:
- Export Infrastructure (20% weightage): Covers logistics, utilities, and industrial infrastructure.
- Business Ecosystem (40% weightage): The most weighted pillar, assessing macroeconomy, cost competitiveness, human capital, MSME ecosystem, and ....
