On 11th January 2026, the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) released the Renewable Energy and Jobs - Annual Review 2025.
- This twelfth edition of IRENA’s ‘Renewable energy and jobs: Annual Review’, produced in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO), provides the latest data and estimates of renewable energy employment globally.

Renewable Energy Employment
- In 2024, the renewable energy sector saw a modest increase of 2.3% in employment, reaching 16.6 million jobs.
- Women still face barriers to hiring and career advancement, and people with disabilities are only just beginning to receive more opportunities.
