Responsible Nations Index to Promote Ethical Governance
On 19th January 2026, the Responsible Nations Index was launched by the former President of India Ram Nath Kovind.
What is Responsible Nations Index (RNI)?
- RNI is a first-of-its-kind global framework designed to evaluate countries on ethical governance, social well-being, environmental stewardship, and international responsibility.
- Developed by:
- World Intellectual Foundation (WIF),
- Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU),
- IIM Mumbai, and
- Dr. Ambedkar International Centre.
- Coverage: The Index covers 154 countries and is based on transparent, globally sourced data, ensuring credibility, comparability, and international acceptance.

- Internal Responsibility: It measures a nation’s commitment to dignity, justice, and the well-being of its citizens.
