Strengthening India’s Skills and TVET Ecosystem
On 22nd January 2026, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the World Economic Forum (WEF) to collaborate on strengthening India’s skills and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) ecosystem.
Key Points
- Skills Accelerator: Under the agreement, MSDE and WEF will launch a Skills Accelerator in India, a multistakeholder platform to identify and scale innovative solutions.
- Sectoral Focus: Special emphasis is placed on high-growth and emerging domains including Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Green Energy, Cybersecurity, and Advanced Manufacturing.
