U.S. Launches ‘Board of Peace’
On 22nd January 2026, U.S. President formally launched the ‘Board of Peace’, an initiative originally conceived to help end the Gaza war but now envisioned to address a broader range of global conflicts, amid concerns from several countries that it could rival or undermine the United Nations.
What is the ‘Board of Peace’?
- A US-initiated multilateral body originally mandated to oversee Gaza’s post-war reconstruction and ceasefire management.
- Its mandate has since expanded to include global conflict resolution and stability promotion.
- A founding Executive Board has been created to operationalise its vision.
