Pashu Aushadhi Initiative
On 5th March 2025, the Union Cabinet approved the revision of Livestock Health and Disease Control Programme (LHDCP). Pashu Aushadhi initiative is a new component added to the LHDCP.
Details of the Initiative
- Enhancing Livestock Health:The initiative aims to reduce disease-related losses by providing access to affordable treatments for ailments like Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD), Brucellosis, and Lumpy Skin Disease.
- Pashu Aushadhi Kendras: Pashu Aushadhi Kendras, modelled after Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Janaushadhi Kendras (PMBJKs), will provide generic veterinary medicines to improve livestock health and reduce farmers' expenses.
- Run by Cooperative Societies: Pashu Aushadhi Kendras will be operated by cooperative societies ....
