Global Estimates of Modern Slavery
On 12th September, 2022, the latest Global Estimates of Modern Slavery: Forced Labour and Forced Marriage report was published by the International Labour Organization (ILO), International Organization for Migration (IOM) and international human rights group Walk Free.
Major Findings
Forced Labour
- There are 27.6 million people in situations of forced labour on any given day.
- Women and girls make up 11.8 million of the total in forced labour.
- More than 3.3 million of all those in forced labour are children.
- Asia and the Pacific is host to more than half of the global total (15.1 million), followed by Europe ....
