Supreme Court to Examine the Practice of Excommunication

On 20th September, 2022, the Supreme Court decided to examine whether the excommunication of the Dawoodi Bohra community’s members can be continued.

  • The Dawoodi Bohras are members of the Muslim community’s Shia sect.
  • These trace their heritage to the Fatimi Imams, direct descendants of the Prophet Mohammed, in Egypt.
