District Agro-Meteorology Units
- On 10th September, 2024, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) announced plans to revive District Agro-Meteorology Units (DAMUs) under the Gramin Krishi Mausam Sewa (GKMS) scheme.
- A joint initiative of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), the DAMUs have been functioning at Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) since 2018.
- The main activity of a DAMU is to support farm planners and farmers by providing advance weather information.
