NASA’s Perseverance Rover
- On 27th August 2024, NASA’s Perseverance rover embarked on a new mission, beginning its challenging ascent to the rim of Jezero Crater after over three years of exploring the Martian surface.
- Perseverance, which has been operating on Mars since 2021, started its ascent towards the summit of a 1,000-foot (305-meter) crater.
- The rock samples collected during Perseverance's mission have the potential to provide critical insights into the history of Mars, including its climate and geological processes.
