8th Annual Contractors’ Meeting of the ISA
On 18-20th September 2025, India hosted the 8th Annual Contractors’ Meeting of the International Seabed Authority (ISA) at CSIR–National Institute of Oceanography, Goa.
- The meeting focused on sustainable resource management, aligning with India’s Deep Ocean Mission and the principle of the “common heritage of mankind.”
- India’s pioneering role was underlined, being the first country to receive an area for polymetallic nodule (PMN) exploration in international waters and designated as a “Pioneer Investor.”
