India’s First Bamboo-Based Ethanol Plant
- On 14 September 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India’s first bamboo-based ethanol plant at Numaligarh Refinery, Golaghat district, Assam, and also laid the foundation for a polypropylene plant.
- It is being established by Assam Bio-Ethanol Private Limited under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, in collaboration with Numaligarh Refinery Limited.
- The Golaghat facility is said to be the world’s first green bamboo bioethanol ....
