India’s Largest Lithium-Ion Battery Manufacturing Plant
- On 4 September 2025, Electronics & IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated an advanced lithium-ion battery plant in Sohna, Haryana.
- It will manufacture 200 million battery packs annually.
- India’s annual domestic requirement is 500 million cell packs, meaning this plant can meet 40% of the country’s annual domestic demand.
