Mughal Political System & Governance
The Mughal administration was one of the most centralized and elaborate political systems in medieval India. It was based on the absolute authority of the emperor, who wielded civil, military, and judicial powers. Over time, the Mughals developed a highly structured system of central, provincial, and local administration, supported by specialized departments, a disciplined military framework, and unique institutions such as the Mansabdari and Jagirdari systems.
