Production Gap Report 2025
On 23rd September 2025, the Production Gap Report 2025 was released by the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) in collaboration with Climate Analytics, and International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD).
- The report assesses governments’ planned and projected production of coal, oil, and gas against global levels consistent with limiting global warming to 1.5°C or 2°C.

Fossil Fuel Production Plans Remain Inconsistent with The Paris Agreement
- Governments collectively still plan to produce significantly more fossil fuels than what is compatible with limiting global warming to 1.5°C.
