Quit India Movement
The Quit India Movement was the last major mass movement against British rule in India. It was launched by Mahatma Gandhi on 8 August 1942 at the Bombay session of the All India Congress Committee (AICC). The movement demanded the immediate withdrawal of British rule from India and gave the slogan of “Quit India.” Gandhi’s famous call of “Do or Die” became the guiding principle of the struggle.
