Anduri Utsav
- Recently, Anduri Utsav was celebrated at Dayara Bugyal of Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand.
- The Anduri Utsav is a festival of Uttarakhand in which villagers of Dayara Bugyal play ‘Holi’ by applying milk and butter instead of Gulal on each other.
- It is also known as ‘Butter Festival’.
- Earlier this festival was celebrated by throwing cow dung on each other but now milk, butter, and buttermilk are used.
- The festival is a way of expressing gratitude to Lord Krishna, who is believed to have protected the cattle from evil forces while they were grazing in the bugyal.
