Krishi-Decision Support System
On 16th August, 2024, the Union government unveiled the Krishi-Decision Support System (K-DSS), a satellite-based geospatial platform aimed at providing comprehensive agricultural data to farmers.
- It is part of the Digital Public Infrastructure for Agriculture announced by Finance Minister in her Budget speech on July 23, 2024.
What is Krishi-DSS?
- Development: It has been developed jointly by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Department of Space.
- Geospatial Platform: Krishi-DSS is a first-of-its-kind geospatial platform specifically designed for Indian agriculture.
