RHUMI 1
- On 24th August, 2024, India’s space innovation took a leap forward as a Tamil Nadu-based start-up successfully launched the country’s first reusable hybrid rocket, "RHUMI 1," from Chennai, aiming to bolster research on climate change.
- Powered by a hybrid motor using a generic fuel, the rocket features an electrically triggered parachute deployer, making it reusable and environmentally friendly.
- The rocket carried three CUBE satellites specifically designed to monitor and gather crucial data on atmospheric conditions such as cosmic radiation intensity, UV radiation, and air quality.
