Digital India Programme was a flagship programme launched by the Government of India with a vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. The initiative was launched on 1st July 2015 with the aim to ensure that the government delivers citizen-centric services, improves its governance and increases its transparency and accountability.
