Recently a notorious gangster, who was absconding after killing 8 policemen, was encountered in Uttar Pradesh after his surrender.In recent times a pattern is visible where police resort to encounter of criminals allegedly driven by public demand for quick justice.In fact, a pattern is emerging where society is visibly showering praises for such acts of killing by police officers.The societal sanction of such illegal acts clearly points towards moral degradation of the society. In this light, highlight the ethical issues involved in extra judicial killings of criminals.
