Durand Cup Tournament 2025

On July 4, 2025, President Droupadi Murmu unveiled the trophies of the Durand Cup Tournament 2025 and flagged them off at a ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre.

  • Organised by the Indian Armed Forces, this is the oldest football tournament in Asia and the third oldest in the world.
  • It began in 1888 in Shimla as an army cup, initially open only to soldiers of the British Indian Army, and later opened to civilian teams as well.
