India Ranked 77th on Henley Passport Index 2025
India has risen eight spots to 77th place on the Henley Passport Index 2025 (released on 18th July 2025), up from 85th, despite only two new additions to its visa-free access list — Philippines and Sri Lanka.
- Indian passport holders now enjoy visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 59 countries, an increase from 57 last year.
- The Henley Passport Index, compiled using IATA data, ranks passports based on the number of destinations accessible without a prior visa.
- Singapore tops the 2025 index with visa-free access to 193 destinations, followed by Japan and South Korea with 190 destinations.
