India–Trinidad and Tobago: Deepening Ties across the Caribbean
On 4th July 2025, Indian Prime Minister concluded a landmark two-day visit to Trinidad and Tobago, marking a new phase in India’s outreach to the Caribbean.
- This was the first bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the island nation in over two decades, reaffirming India's commitment to the Global South and the Indian diaspora.
Key Agreements
- Disaster Resilience & Biofuels: Trinidad and Tobago joined India-led global initiatives, viz. Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) and Global Biofuels Alliance (GBA).
- Development Assistance: Under the MoU on Quick Impact Projects (QIPs), India to fund up to 5 small-scale development projects annually, capped ....
