India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement: Towards A New Era
On 24th July 2025, India and the United Kingdom signed the historic Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), marking a new era of economic partnership.

- Zero-duty access on 99% of tariff lines, covering nearly the entire trade value.
- Major boost for labour-intensive sectors including textiles, leather, footwear, marine products, toys, gems & jewellery.
Services & Professional Access
- First-time comprehensive services commitments by the UK.
- Access for Indian professionals in IT/ITeS, finance, consulting, education, telecom, architecture, and engineering.
- Liberalised visa categories for contractual service providers, intra-corporate transferees, and independent professionals like yoga instructors and chefs.
