On 24th July 2025, India and the United Kingdom signed the historic Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), marking a new era of economic partnership.

  • Major boost for labour-intensive sectors including textiles, leather, footwear, marine products, toys, gems & jewellery.

  • First-time comprehensive services commitments by the UK.
  • Access for Indian professionals in IT/ITeS, finance, consulting, education, telecom, architecture, and engineering.
  • Liberalised visa categories for contractual service providers, intra-corporate transferees, and independent professionals like yoga instructors and chefs.
