IRDAI Forms Investigation Panels to Probe Regulatory Breaches
On 15th July 2025, the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) constituted panels of its whole-time members to decide on the violations by certain insurers/insurance intermediaries.
- The move is part of the enforcement function, specifically to decide on the violations of the provisions of the Insurance Act and regulations.
- The decision on the panels comes amid reports of government seeking to crackdown on mis-selling, some insurers coming under scrutiny and complaints around claim settlement.
