SC Guidelines to Protect Mental Health of Students
On 25th July 2025, in a significant judgment, the Supreme Court issued 15 pan-India guidelines to address the rising incidents of suicide, safety concerns, and mental health issues among students in educational institutions.
About the Case
- This landmark ruling came during a hearing on the tragic death of a 17-year-old NEET aspirant from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
- The student was preparing for the medical entrance exam while staying in a hostel and died by suicide on July 14, 2023.
