Supreme Court Flags Ecological Imbalance in Himachal Pradesh
On 28th July 2025, in a stark warning, the Supreme Court (SC) expressed grave concern over the ecological degradation in Himachal Pradesh, cautioning that if current environmental trends persist, the state may “vanish in thin air.”
- The court’s observations came while hearing a petition linked to a June 2025 Himachal Pradesh government notification that designated certain areas as “green zones” to curb construction activity.
