US Designates The Resistance Front (TRF)
On 18th July 2025, India welcomed the US Government’s designation of The Resistance Front (TRF) as both a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) and a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) entity.
- The TRF, a known proxy of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LeT), was held responsible for the 22nd April Pahalgam terror attack on civilians in Jammu and Kashmir, for which it claimed responsibility twice.
- India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) called the move a “timely and important step” and highlighted it as a result of India’s ongoing global campaign against terrorism originating from Pakistani soil.
