Cabinet Approves Semicon 2.0
On 15th July 2026, the Union Cabinet approved the Semicon 2.0 to build a comprehensive semiconductor ecosystem, strengthening India's position as a trusted global hub for electronics and semiconductor manufacturing.
About Simcon 2.0
- Semicon 2.0 builds upon the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) 1.0, launched in 2021, marking a transition from ecosystem creation to ecosystem deepening.
- With a financial outlay of Rs. 1,27,500 crore, the programme seeks to develop capabilities across the entire semiconductor value chain—from chip design to advanced packaging.
