NSE Launches Nifty500 Ahimsa Index
On 10th July 2026, NSE Indices, a subsidiary of the National Stock Exchange (NSE), launched the Nifty 500 Ahimsa Index, a new thematic index that tracks companies from the Nifty 500 whose businesses follow the principle of ahimsa, or non-violence.
What Nifty500 Ahimsa Index?
- Rule-based Equity Index:It is India’s first specialized, rules-based equity index designed specifically to screen and track companies free from animal cruelty.
- Ethical Investors: It offers ethical investors a structured way to direct capital away from industries that cause harm to animals.
