THAAD
- The US has deployed the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile defense system and 100 troops in Israel, responding to recent Iranian missile strikes following high-profile assassinations.
- THAAD counters short, medium, and intermediate-range ballistic missiles and is the only US system capable of intercepting targets both within and beyond the Earth’s atmosphere.
