All Civil Servants are entrusted with public duty for the welfare of the masses. However, non-performance of duty by civil servant is considered as one form of corruption. Do you agree with this view? Justify your answer.
Answer: All civil servants are mandated to perform public duty for the welfare of society. However, non-performance of public duty now and then by a civil servant can amount to harm of society. For instance, if a local judge refuses to perform his/her duty, it may cost freedom or civil rights to the victim, a doctor not reaching hospital on time may threaten the life of patient, a teacher not reaching school or not performing in class can endanger future of children and also to society as a whole, a police officer not performing his duty may disrupt ....
