Astra is India’s indigenous beyond-visual-range (BVR) air-to-air missile developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

Variants
- Astra Mk-1: 110 km range, 15–44 km altitude, Mach 5.5 speed, 15 kg warhead.
- Astra Mk-2: 160 km range, dual-pulse rocket motor, to be deployed by 2026.
- Astra Mk-3: 350 km range, based on Solid Fuel Ducted Ramjet (SFDR) technology, projected deployment by 2030.
Guidance and Technology
- Guidance: Active radar homing (Ku-band), inertial navigation, and mid-course data link.
- ECCM: Strong resistance to electronic jamming.
- Sensors: Indigenous radar seeker, 360° target tracking.
