Lumma Stealer

  • On 21st May, Microsoft announced a major takedown operation against Lumma Stealer, a notorious info-stealing malware affecting over 394,000 Windows PCs between 16th March and 16th May, 2025.
  • Lumma Stealer functions as “Malware-as-a-Service,” distributed via phishing emails, malvertising, and fake software like AI video tools, and is notoriously hard to detect.
  • It targets web browsers such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox to steal sensitive user data including crypto wallets, passwords, credit card details, and banking credentials.
