- According to the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) 2022-23, only 3.7% of India's workforce has received formal vocational training.
- According to the India Skills Report 2024, the employability of youth in India is just slightly over 51%.
- Approximately 10 million (1 crore) new people join India's workforce annually, requiring digital literacy, problem-solving, and continuous learning skills.
- Under the 'Skill India Mission' (2015) and 'Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana' (PMKVY), emphasis is being placed on emerging sectors like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, and Advanced Manufacturing.
