25th SCO Summit 2025

The 25th Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation was held in Tianjin, China (31 August –1 September 2025).

  • The Tianjin Declaration strongly condemned terrorism and, for the first time, mentioned the April 2025 Pahalgam terror attack, marking a diplomatic success for India.
  • The declaration also condemned other incidents such as the Jaffer Express hijacking and the Khuzdar school bus bombing.
  • Institutional reforms merged observers and dialogue partners into a new structure of 10 members and 17 partners, with Laos joining as the newest partner.
  • Four new SCO centres were launched to tackle security, organized crime, cyber threats, ....
