350th Martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur
In November 2025, India commemorated the 350th b martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur with a high-level event at the Red Fort.
Spiritual Leadership and Historical Resistance
- Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru, is revered for his supreme sacrifice for universal human rights.
- He is honored as ‘Hind ki Chadar’ for shielding the religious freedom of the Kashmiri Pandit community.
- His martyrdom in 1675 was a direct response to forced conversions during the reign of Aurangzeb.
- He was executed at Chandni Chowk, where the historic Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib stands today.
