- In February 2026, Union Finance Minister announced the launch of Bharat-VISTAAR (Virtually Integrated System to Access Agricultural Resources), a multilingual AI tool to integrate the AgriStack portals and the ICAR package on agricultural practices with AI systems.
- Agristack is a digital ecosystem designed to provide end-to-end services to farmers through data integration.
- A unique "Federated Farmer ID" will be generated for every farmer to facilitate seamless identity verification.
- The federated architecture ensures that state governments maintain primary ownership of their respective local land records.
- This digital infrastructure aims to create a "single source of truth" for all farmer-related data nationwide.
