- The UNICEF 2025 report reveals that global obesity prevalence among children has officially surpassed underweight rates.
- India faces a significant burden with childhood obesity costing nearly one percent of the national GDP annually.
- The National Family Health Survey-5 indicates a 127 percent rise in overweight prevalence among Indian under-five children.
- By 2030, India is projected to account for eleven percent of the global obesity burden among adolescents.
