India–Russia Reciprocal Logistics Support (RELOS)
In December 2025, Russia officially approved the Reciprocal Exchange of Logistics Support (RELOS) agreement with India.
- RELOS is understood as a reciprocal logistics support arrangement for armed forces, covering refuelling, replenishment, berthing, maintenance and related support.
- India and Russia officially continue to describe defence cooperation as a central pillar of their Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership.
- India and Russia have officially discussed the Chennai–Vladivostok route and cooperation on the Northern Sea Route.
- Such an arrangement would especially matter for sustaining India’s large inventory of Russian-origin military platforms and for improving operational reach during exercises, visits and contingencies.
