National Green Hydrogen Mission – SIGHT Programme
- In August 2025, India achieved a record-low price of Rs. 55.75/kg for Green Ammonia in the first SECI auction under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Scheme, marking a major step in the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
- SIGHT is a major financial component under the National Green Hydrogen Mission to promote domestic manufacturing.
- The programme provides time-bound financial incentives for five years to enhance the cost-competitiveness of green hydrogen.
- Mode 1 focuses on incentivising electrolyser manufacturing, while Mode 2 targets the actual production of green hydrogen.
- Incentives are tapered annually to encourage manufacturers to achieve economies of scale and improve technological efficiency.
