NISAR Satellite
Launched in July 2025, the NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) is collaboration between the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
- It is the first mission to use dual-band SAR technology for high-resolution, all-weather, day-and-night imaging.
- Launched aboard GSLV-F16, this was the first time ISRO’s GSLV vehicle successfully placed a satellite into a Sun-synchronous Polar Orbit.

- Technically, the NISAR satellite is based on dual-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) technology, operating in L-band (by NASA) and S-band (by ISRO).
