PAN 2.0 Project

- The PAN 2.0 Project aims to re-engineer the existing Permanent Account Number system for digital-first governance.
- It designates the PAN as a "Common Business Identifier" across all central and state government departments.
- The project facilitates the "One-Stop-Shop" approach for business registration and compliance through a unified digital interface.
- Integration with the Digital Public Infrastructure allows for real-time verification and seamless data exchange between agencies.
- The system utilizes a centralized "Data Vault" to enhance the security and privacy of taxpayer information.
